welcome back to the 3rd week which i started my week with learning about information and communications technology (ICT). ICT is concerned with the used of technology in managing and processing information.

these enable the processing and storage of enormous amounts of information,along with rapid distribution of information through communication networks. ICT management is divided to ICT resource management,ICT service management and ICT governance.

ICT is used in our daily life such as banking,business,healthcare,science,education,government etc.ICT expand access in education and raise education quality among.ICT also improve the banks' image and leads to a wider,faster and more efficient market besides increase participation of citizens in government decisions and actions and improved public sector performance:changing way of doing business in government.

In communication,the technology supports the external and internal communication of the virtual company in three ways:the internet is used as public network for information and communication to the public and especially to potential customers,the internet is used for an extranet and for an intranet.

on the other hand,in business ICT can reduce transaction costs and increase the speed and reliability of transactions for both business-to-business(B2B) and business-to-consumer(B2C) transactions.

last but not least,there are some ICT challenges such as Adoption of new technology, Faster application delivery, Continuous alignment between Business and ICT, Transition of existing system, Reliability of Complex distributed system and ICT as Enabler.

        this week I learnt about Information Technology (IT) which defined as any computer-based tool that people used to work with information and information-processing needs of an organisation.
  

   IT has been divided into IT architecture and IT infrastructure. IT Architecture is to ensure the alignment of information and communications technology to business strategy. it is also used to explain and guide how an organization’s IT and information management elements work together to efficiently accomplish the mission of the organization.


   On the other hand,IT infrastructure is the physical hardware used to interconnect computers and users including the transmission media, telephone lines, cable television lines, and satellites and antennas and also the routers, aggregators, repeaters, and other devices that control transmission paths. It also includes the software used to send,receive and manage the signals that are transmitted.In some usages, infrastructure refers to interconnecting hardware and software and not to computers and other devices that are interconnected. However, to some information technology users, infrastructure is viewed as everything that supports the flow and processing of information.

   The advance of IT made the globalization happened. Globalization is defined as the integration and interdependence of economic,social,culture, and ecological facets of life. globalization 1.0 start from 1492-1800, globalization 2.0(1800-2000) and globalization 3.0(2000 to the present).
